Alfredo Ferrer Jr. – Customer Support Representative, Cold Caller

alfredo-ferrer-vaHi my name is Alfredo F. Ferrer Jr. , you may call me Alfred.

I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering but did not pursue getting a license because when I graduated, my wife was already pregnant with our first born. I needed to find a job and was hired as a boiler and generator set operator in one of the bottling plants of Tanduay Distillers Inc here in Negros.

Luckily, I know a friend whose company was looking for a field technician for their maintenance project for a Telecom company. I was tasked in the facilities monthly preventive maintenance for Globe Telecom’s cell sites here in Negros Island. September of 2009 I was promoted to Area Supervisor whose tasks were monitoring weekly maintenance schedule of each team, communicating with the Globe Telecom’s Facilities Engineer for the corrective maintenance as well as preparing documents for billing those corrective works. When 2012 came and our company did not win the bidding for another contract, and since we are working under a co-terminus contract, our job also ended.

I then ventured into the BPO Industry and was hired as an inbound Technical support representative for an ISP company. My tasks were to provide Internet connectivity support, modem activation support, setting up client and web mail for customers, walking through customers in installing the free AV provided with their subscription and educating them with the company’s portal. But I was hit with Hypertension and needed to stop working to take a much-needed rest and recovery.

alfredo-ferrer-vaMy Family was growing bigger since my wife got pregnant with our 2nd daughter and I needed a stable job. I applied for an outbound Call Center company and was hired because of my experience. I learned a lot of new skills here working for different campaigns which boosted my self-confidence. This work included:

  • Cold Caller/Appointment Setter for Auto, Health and Life Insurances, Fire extinguisher maintenance company and Real estate companies.
  • Calling prospects and setting appointments using the client’s Google calendar and ZOHO or HubSpot CRM.
  • New Client on-boarding specialist.
  • Creating profile for new customer on client’s app, verifying and uploading of available documents in Salesforce CRM, search if customer has an existing Uniform Commercial Code financing loan through the Secretary of State website or using FICOSO app, filing of customers UCC financing lien using FICOSO app, activation of customer’s account and communicating it with Account manager assigned to the customer using Slack.

I would be a valuable asset to your team since I already have experience being a VA handling multiple campaigns. I’m flexible, resourceful and can work independently with minimum supervision. I have great attention to detail which is essential in being a VA.
