Mary Jalagpas – General VirtualAssistant

mary-collin-therese-vaHello there! I am Mary Collin Therese Jalagpas, a graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Psychology program at the University of San Agustin in Iloilo, a renowned institution known for its competitiveness in our city. It is truly remarkable to reflect upon the journey that has brought me to this point. Yet, here I stand today, a graduate ready to embark on the next chapter of my life.

I bear no shame in acknowledging that I became a working student as early as my second year in college. This experience has been instrumental in shaping my character and honing valuable skills. I went on a road that required me to balance my academic endeavors while also working as a Customer Service Representative in the early morning hours. This job taught me exceptional multitasking skills as well as effective time management in handling and resolving customer concerns with precision and timeliness.

Subsequently, I ventured into the realm of freelance virtual assistant, engaging in part-time, full-time, and project-based collaborations with small businesses. My roles included serving as a General Virtual Assistant, Back Office Assistant, Appointment Setter, and Cold Caller. This required providing vital administrative support to maintain the smooth operation of the office, as well as managing operational requirements such as scheduling and responding to enquiries to expedite job results.

Fueled by my passion for psychology, I embarked on an internship with an outsourcing company dedicated to empowering Filipino virtual assistants. I served as a Human Resource Associate Intern, actively participating in the recruitment process, including conducting interviews and tracking potential candidates. Later, I was entrusted with the role of a Human Resources Associate and General Virtual Assistant by a mary-collin-therese-vasmall business owner, where I applied my comprehensive skill set.

In my final year of college, I was balancing academic commitments with my job. This diverse experience has led me to the roles of a Clinical Psychiatry Assistant, a Human Resource Associate in a BPO company, and a Guidance Assistant within our university.

Gratitude fills my heart for the trials I’ve overcome, as they have presented invaluable learning experiences and opened doors to opportunities. My journey has solidified my dedication to helping individuals and organizations. The rich diversity of my work environment has honed my ability to have integrity and reliability, a skill I carry forward with great pride as I embark on the next chapter of my professional journey.
