Hello! I am Ladyh April Villareal-Arangcon. And here is my story…

All of us have dreams and ambitions. And those dreams and ambitions are for us to have a good life and be what we want to be – including how we want other people to see us.

However, not all of us are given the opportunity to be good and prove ourselves. Not all of us are given the right talent and attitude to continue to build the foundation to be strong and persevere to chase our dreams – and be what we want to be.

I always wanted to be a Journalist ever since I was a kid, because I love speaking in front of people. I love to write even though I was not gifted with great penmanship.

When I attended college my parents did not allow me to study for a BS in Mass Communication for fear I might not be able to secure good pay when seeking employment post graduation. So, I went for the Bachelor of Elementary Education Degree instead, and became a Licensed Professional Teacher.

lady-april-arangcon-casualAfter graduating I wasn’t able to get a job as a Teacher, so my first job was in the BPO industry. I worked in a call center with Catalog projects, so I dealt with inbound calls. I was so excited when I landed the job, because I love to talk! And I love to help other people! Most of my accounts were dealing with mature clients – patiently taking their orders. I worked as a Customer Service Representative for 5 years. I must say I enjoyed my office based job and I enjoyed being with my co-workers.

I then got married and eventually had my first born. Becoming a Mum made it necessary for me to cease that job.

Life was not that easy. During that time my husband was still a student at Medical College. To cover our day-to-day financial needs I continued to work as a Virtual Assistant in an office based company. I worked with a Jewish client for 5 years. At first my task was only performing data entry because I didn’t have any skills that would qualify me to take on E-commerce tasks. Little by little, my client taught me more skills and I became a Product Lister. I uploaded products images and descriptions to Amazon and Ebay. I used Seller Central, ChannelAdvisor, and Shopify to update our products. Sometimes I performed administration tasks, like finishing touches to the product invoice in QuickBooks.

I enjoyed the five years with my client based in New York. I worked night shift from the very start, and during those five years, I had my 2nd baby. That was the when I began dreaming of working from home. So I made the decision to resign and look for a home based job. I need to take care of my children while earning a living. I really want to be able to be a Mum, while improving my skills and building my career.

So… if you are looking for a Virtual Assistant who is willing to learn more and improve, that is ME. If you are looking for a dedicated worker, that is ME. I promise to work hard and so that you, as my client, will be thankful that you have me as your back up and help. I will work like I own the business, in that way you know there will be great productivity – and I will always focus on what is good for you as my client. I will work with flexibility and require little supervision. And I want to grow with your business – so I am in it for the long-term.

Thank you for reading my story. 🙂
