Godson Iroanya – General Virtual Assistant

godson-iroanya-vaHello, I’m Godson Iroanya, a dedicated husband and proud father of two wonderful children – a boy and a girl. My educational journey led me to attain a degree in Physics from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Since the inception of my business in 2013, a general consulting venture formed in partnership with a friend, I’ve embraced the concept of working from home. Our initial foray into remote work was born out of necessity, as limited finances prevented us from securing a physical office space. This constraint, however, became a catalyst for acquiring a diverse skill set and honing the ability to multitask. The collaborative spirit with my partner flourished, and together we navigated the challenges of entrepreneurship.

My professional journey commenced as a member of an exploration team for a mining company. In this role, I conducted crucial preliminary assessments of potential mining sites, negotiated access with local communities, and played a pivotal role in gathering geological data. The responsibility extended to evaluating resource viability and contributing to the determination of mining operation feasibility.

Transitioning from the field to entrepreneurship, I co-founded a general consulting firm. The process of setting up and running the business proved to be a transformative period. I not only refined my existing skills but also acquired a myriad of new ones – from administrative tasks and technology implementation to customer service, negotiation, graphic design, lead generation, marketing, and social media management. The entrepreneurial journey taught me resilience and resourcefulness. When faced with challenges, if outsourcing was not financially viable, my partner and I adopted a do-it-yourself ethos. This mindset fostered continuous learning and adaptation to dynamic business needs.

godson-iroanya-vaAfter five years of business ownership, life took a turn as I embraced the roles of husband and father. Concurrently, a passion for community activism ignited, necessitating a shift in focus and time commitment. Remote work, with its flexibility and efficiency, became an attractive option, given my prior experience and the versatile skill set I had developed. To further enhance my remote work capabilities, I undertook training and certification in virtual assistance, property management/short-term rental assistance, CRM, administrative support, task management, and lead generation. This commitment to ongoing learning and skill development keeps me competitive in the ever-evolving landscape of remote work. Adapting seamlessly to the remote work environment, I’ve found a balance that allows me to provide for and spend quality time with my loved ones. It also affords me the opportunity to actively engage in community service, a cause close to my heart.

As I continue on this professional journey, my aim is to continually expand my knowledge and skill set. I am driven, detail-oriented, and thrive on challenges. Whether working collaboratively or independently, I approach tasks with a methodical and organized mindset. A positive work environment is essential, and I find joy in sharing laughter with colleagues. In conclusion, my commitment extends beyond personal and professional growth – it encompasses making meaningful contributions to both my family and the community. The remote work landscape has not only become my professional playground but also a platform for holistic development and societal impact.
